The Parish Council was unable to submit its objections to proposals to demolish the British Legion building at Low Seaton after Allerdale Borough Council Planning Service provided the Council with the wrong due date for the receipt of comments, so approving the demolition without taking the Parish Council’s views into account.
VE75 Day & Memorial Bench

To commemorate VE75 Day & officially announce the provision of the Memorial Bench, decorations around the greens at Seaton shops & a small ceremony were organised by Councillor Ken Slone.
Bus Shelters

Bus Shelters at the Jackson Street, Derwent Avenue & Coronation Estate stops are being refurbished as the perspex panels have become worn & presented a poor appearance. Replacement panels will be metal sheeting for most of the shelters, with Perspex viewing panels, & the shelters re-painted to ensure new & old parts blend.
Seaton in Bloom

Work by the Seaton in Bloom Group began in March during lockdown, when a long spell of dry weather meant that the village’s container displays required daily watering to preserve the Spring plants.

This is the fifth year of the Seaton Community Champion Award, which is designed to give recognition to people who have made a valuable contribution to village life. Nominations were sought in December & a selection panel consisting of Seaton Vicar the Reverend Grainger, Seaton Academy Headteacher Mrs Banks, Seaton C of E Junior School Headteacher Mrs Dickinson & Parish Councillors Mrs Lily Harwood & Julie Norman reviewed those nominations in January.

Christmas Lights Switch-on

Seaton’s Christmas Lights were switched on by Santa Claus on Sunday 1 December. Santa arrived in Seaton in a beautifully decorated carriage pulled by the noble Eddie the horse, driven by Andrea, ably assisted by Santa’s pixie workers. After posing for some exclusive photographs, Santa chose some lucky Seaton children to help him press the magic plunger to switch the lights on. Prior to the big switch-on, the crowd was treated to some beautiful singing from Seaton Academy Choir & the Theatre Stars.
Meadow Vale
