Trevor, who served on Seaton Parish Council, as well as Allerdale Borough Council & Cumbria County Council, died suddenly in September 2013 at the age of 57. The commemoration event was attended by Trevor's wife Adelaide, children Matthew & Charlotte, & colleagues from Seaton Parish Council. A ribbon was cut by Adelaide to mark the event & she was presented with a bunch of flowers by Councillor Jim Musgrave. The mahogany & steel bench is positioned on Main Road, Seaton, between Coronation Avenue & Derwent Avenue, overlooking the Solway Firth & the view across to Scotland, a beautiful vista when the sun is setting, & one which Trevor & Adelaide held in special memory. The bench is inlaid with a plaque, reading 'Do you know how many lives you have changed & how many you have completely rearranged ? People's Champion'. A fitting tribute to Trevor.

Agnes, aka Mrs Brown, was selected as the winner of the best single scarecrow; well done to Jackie Nicholson of Low Seaton. Seaton Scarecrow Festival 2013
Wednesday, 20 February 2013 16:07
The 2013 Festival was held from 1 July to 13 July, with 6 July being Scarecrow Trail day Seaton Scarecrow Festival will be held between 30 June & 11 July in 2014. Scarecrows should be displayed throughout that period. The Scarecrow Trail Day will be held on 5 July. Unlike the last two years, entrants are invited this year to demonstrate their innovation & ingenuity in devising original Scarecrow designs, so we are hoping that people will put their thinking caps on now & come up with some great ideas ! We have noted that many designs in the past have encompassed more than one scarecrow in their presentation, so are proposing to have prizes for the Best Scaregrow group, as well as the Best Scarecrow, which will be selected by the panel of judges. In addition, people attending the Trail Day event will be invited to select their own preferences, for a People's Choice. So plenty of time to get thinking & gathering up some interesting scarecrow building materials over the coming weeks !'
