The Council’s work to develop allotments on Meadow Vale continues on a piece of land at the far end of Meadow Vale football pitches, which the Council acquired in 2016. Works to install external fencing at the site have now taken place & preparations are being made for the internal layout to be put in place. |

Work has started to make improvements to enable Seaton to enter the Cumbria in Bloom competition, & the Council is looking at options for introducing additional flowers around the village.

Seaton Christmas Lights will be switched-on on Saturday 2 December at around 5pm at Seaton shops. The switch-on event will run following the Church Christmas Fayre, which takes place earlier in the day. |

Tallest Sunflower Competition |

During the Spring, the Parish Council delivered ‘giant’ sunflower seeds, pots & compost for all Seaton Schools’ children, inviting them to see who could grow the tallest plants. During September, councillors visited children’s houses with their tape measures & recorded the height of each declared entry. |

Seaton Best Kept Garden & Container Competition |

Seaton residents were invited to nominate their favourite gardens & container displays during July & judging was carried out by Council in the second half of the month. The winners were invited to the Parish Council meeting held on 18 September where they received their prizes & a framed certificate to commemorate their success. Rainy weather in July led to the cancellation of the original openingday for Jackson Street Play Area, following the installation of sixnew pieces of equipment suitable for the 7 to 11 year old age group, & the official opening took place instead on Saturday 9 September.
