Cliff Hodgson
Monday, 10 October 2016 15:29
Many residents of Seaton will have heard of, and indeed met, the late Cliff Hodgson. John Clifford Hodgson served Seaton as a councillor for 43 years, many of those as Chairman of the Parish Council, and dedicated his life to the village. In September, a plaque on one of the benches near Seaton shops was unveiled in Mr Hodgson’s honour, recognising his contribution to village life, at a ceremony attended by close family and Seaton councillors. Seaton author Ethel Fisher referred to Mr Hodgson as ‘The one that got away but will never be forgotten’; a fitting tribute to a dedicated public servant.

The Queen’s 90th Birthday
Thursday, 21 July 2016 14:35
Many people will have enjoyed the spectacle of the national celebrations to mark the Queen’s 90th Birthday this year, and to mark the event locally, the Council provided each Seaton Schools’ pupil with a commemorative mug, depicting a lovely picture of the Queen. The mugs were handed out by Parish Council Chairman Lily Harwood at Seaton Academy on 16 June, in conjunction with a Garden Party organised by the school, and at Seaton Junior School where a special assembly was held.
