Many people will have enjoyed the spectacle of the national celebrations to mark the Queen’s 90th Birthday this year, and to mark the event locally, the Council provided each Seaton Schools’ pupil with a commemorative mug, depicting a lovely picture of the Queen. The mugs were handed out by Parish Council Chairman Lily Harwood at Seaton Academy on 16 June, in conjunction with a Garden Party organised by the school, and at Seaton Junior School where a special assembly was held.

The Council is planning to provide an allotment site at the far end of the Meadow Vale Playing Fields, where it has been gifted a piece of land which has been scrub land for many years. The site will be properly controlled and administered, and the Council hopes the reintroduction of allotments in Seaton will encourage villagers to take up tenancies in the future. A Community Garden is also being planned.

The Parish Council has arranged for two new footbridges to be put in place on the footpath leading from Scaw Bank to Camerton Church. People who frequent the area concerned will be aware that the two previous bridges were washed away in the December floods. The new bridges are intended to be more resilient, and should be in place by the end of August.
