Seaton in Bloom
Wednesday, 25 April 2018 14:59

Daffodils & crocuses have brightened up the village in the Spring, following the planting of some 7,000 bulbs by volunteers & Seaton Academy school children in the late Autumn.

The Council is developing its entry to the Cumbria in Bloom competition in 2018, & has arranged, through funding from Allerdale Borough Council, for the provision of raised beds at the main road junction with Jackson Street & at Seaton library, the latter with the kind agreement of Cumbria County Council. The Parish Council is planning to introduce planters with flower displays at various vantage points in the village during the summer & preparations are being made for hanging baskets to be displayed from principal village sites. The Council has a Working Party which is providing the impetus for this project & members of the public who with an interest in helping with these improvements would be welcome to join.
