Seaton in Bloom
Tuesday, 09 January 2018 16:26

Work has continued to make improvements to enable Seaton to enter the Cumbria in Bloom competition, with the planting of 7,000 bulbs in conspicuous sites around Seaton.

1,000 crocuses were planted in Hunters Drive Playing Field by the children of Seaton Academy, which should provide a purple carpet of colour in March. Volunteering villagers & Parish Council members, assisted by Allerdale Borough Council officers, ISS & Focsa Services’ staff, planted 1,000 crocuses & 5,000 daffodil bulbs, supplied through Allerdale Town Centre Manager Toni Magean. When Spring arrives the results of this work should be clearly visible around the village.
