The Council’s work to develop allotments on Meadow Vale continues on a piece of land at the far end of Meadow Vale football pitches, which the Council acquired in 2016. Works to install external fencing at the site have now taken place & preparations are being made for the internal layout to be put in place.

The Council has submitted an application for lawful development to provide guidance on further permitted development of the site, which includes the provision of shared facilities which will enable those interested in horticulture but not able to manage a plot by themselves to pursue their interest, as well as enabling the younger people in the village to further their education through growing plants.

Through the work of dedicated members of Seaton Junior Football Club, major improvements have been made to Meadow Vale football pitches. This work includes the fencing off of the playing surfaces to help preserve them & hopefully keep dogs away, problems having been experienced in the past caused by the dogs’ recalcitrant owners ignoring signage, allowing their pets to roam on & foul the playing surface & failing to ‘scoop the poop’. Residents are asked to recognise the hard work that has been carried out & report any not respecting this to the authorities.
