Council members recently held a meeting with a Cumbria County Council Highways officer to address a number of concerns which have been reported to Cumbria Highways but not received attention.
It was agreed that a replacement 30mph warning indicator sign will be provided for the main road, further speed control measures will be investigated, fading road lines will be addressed & parking restrictions at Derwent Bank & Coronation Avenue, where vehicle parking causes problems, will be considered. Cumbria County Council will be installing a road crossing with associated parking restrictions on the main road outside Seaton Academy in the summer, which will help control vehicle speed through the village & provide for safe crossing for parents & children. The County Council will also be making improvements to the Church Road area through additional parking controls. |
