The Council is continuing to work on the development of arrangements for the provision of allotments at Meadow Vale. The proposed site is a piece of land at the far end of Meadow Vale football pitches, which the Council acquired in 2016. It is anticipated that work will commence to level the land off in mid-May, when top soil will be delivered. A footpath will link the site to the car parking area & the Council has obtained permission to develop an access usable by disabled people from the cycletrack adjacent to the site. In conjunction with the development of the allotment site, the Council is working with Seaton Junior Football Club to improve facilities on Meadow Vale, with the provision of changing rooms & enlargement of the car parking area, as well as better ground maintenance arrangements to help alleviate drainage problems. The club has raised funds to enable the pitch areas to be fenced off, principally to address the continued problem of dog fouling, & it is hoped that the improvements will enable the club, which has a membership of over two hundred children, to attract more funding in the future.
