The Parish Council has held a site meeting with Sustrans, the organisation which manages the cycletrack in the area, to address the flooding problem on the bridge adjacent to Seaton Shops. Sustrans carried out some improvement works late last year, but unfortunately this didn’t fully resolve the problem. They have agreed to carry out further work which is due to take place in early 2017.

Funding from Allerdale has enabled the Parish Council to arrange for the planting of 3,000 daffodil bulbs and 3,000 crocus bulbs on the area of cycletrack banking beside Seaton shops. This will be augmented by snowdrops and summer flowers later in the year. Permission was kindly granted by Sustrans to make these improvements, which the Council hopes will make a colourful centrepiece for the village during the spring and summer months.
