The additions to the greens in the centre of the village have been well received by many people and the Council is looking to make further improvements with the provision of flower beds on the greens, a litter bin on the green adjacent to Causeway Road and the introduction of flowers to the banking below the cycletrack. The area of the cycletrack between the bridges which floods regularly is due to be improved to prevent it flooding later this year by Sustrans, the organisation responsible for the management of the cycletrack in the area, following requests made by the Council. The Council has commissioned a commemorative plaque, to be displayed on one of the new benches near the shops, in recognition of the contribution made to the community by the late Clifford Hodgson, who served for many years as a councillor for both Allerdale Borough and Seaton Parish councils. |
