Jackson Street Playing Field

Following a suggestion from the Seaton in Bloom Group, the Council is looking to replace the tall industrial style fencing adjacent to the road at the Jackson Street Playing Field.

Whilst the fencing was originally installed with health & safety requirements in mind, many villagers dislike its austere appearance & the Council has agreed to the Seaton in Bloom Group’s request that it be replaced with a lower wooden style fence with associated natural hedging. In association with the group, the Council is considering ways in which the new fence may be decorated, including coloured fencing, redesigned fun plaques & plant displays.
The Council has also arranged, at the request of Jackson Street residents, for the hedging on the north side of the Playing Field to be reduced in height. The work will be carried out by the Council’s contractors in late August/early September.
