Christmas Lights Switch-on
Wednesday, 18 December 2019 14:24

Seaton’s Christmas Lights were switched on by Santa Claus on Sunday 1 December. Santa arrived in Seaton in a beautifully decorated carriage pulled by the noble Eddie the horse, driven by Andrea, ably assisted by Santa’s pixie workers. After posing for some exclusive photographs, Santa chose some lucky Seaton children to help him press the magic plunger to switch the lights on. Prior to the big switch-on, the crowd was treated to some beautiful singing from Seaton Academy Choir & the Theatre Stars.

Michaela Sheard provided a face-painting service at Seaton Library, where Seaton Academy ran a fund-raising stall & Victoria Hewitt was raising funds for Seaton Football Club through a Santa Dash around the village on 22 December. Characters from Disney’s ‘Frozen’ were on hand to provide further entertainment for children.

The Parish Council is very grateful to all who took part & helped with the switch-on, to Sweet Belief for the loan of costumes & to Michael Milner for the loan of broadcasting equipment. A true community event!
